Fade to Pink

This America rose has faded to a nice pink over the past two weeks. The large bud opened and has been well preserved as turned from salmon to pink, but the three buds accompanying the rose have shown very little growth or progress toward opening. Between the very cool nights and shortened days, I’m not sure there is enough warmth or light left in a day for them to fully open.

  1. You and Laurie have the prettiest America grown in the Albuquerque area! I’m glad you gave the progression an entire post!

  2. That is a beautiful rose specimen, Timothy! We have one bud on a pink rose, a lighter shade than that one, but looks very similar. The deer missed it! It will probably open, but slowly. I think it has been a little warmer here than where you are – no frost here, not just yet….

    • Thanks, Lavinia! This America is taking on the color of when they have dried, it’s kind of like it’s a living freeze dried rose or maybe it’s a zombie rose given the season. 😉
