A lot of people don’t click through from the WP side, so they miss the extra photos and the “rest of the story” as Paul Harvey used to say. Since you were commenting on so many of the single shots, I didn’t want you to miss the main photos.
I moved off of WP a couple of years ago, but always do a teaser on WP. It’s easier for people to follow on WP and get the notifications for blog posts by email or see them through the WP reader, followers can click straight to the photo blog from the email notifications. The photo side only has RSS feed for following, which if you know how to get RSS in your browser is better than emails, in my opinion, but RSS is not very well understood by most people it seems. It’s like the reader in WP for just my posts.
If Zenfolio had a blog option in 2011, I would have never done WP, but they didn’t add a blog option until around 2013 or so. The blog on Zenfolio is really meant for business, so it doesn’t have the social aspect to it that WP does, but it’s much better for photos and the way I work. It also has much better image protection compared to WP.
